Grumpy Unc passed away Sat morning. Now we know why he didn't make the Patcom. I confirmed it with Michael Boone since I had never got to meet him in person. Peace Brother no pain! We will remember you!

Rest in peace Unk. I will definitely miss your wisdom, and the "gratuitous picture" of the day. Hope St. Peter had a shiny new blue plastic motorcycle waiting for you at the gate. Damn, I hate crying...
ReplyDeleteYep,lost a good one!We were kinda of all looking over our shoulders this weekend to see when he would arrive cause he was fired up to go his strength was starting to come back. Boone left a message for one of the guys who called me at 5:30 mon morn later I called Michael just to verify.Sadly true! Guess that chair that I thought was empty during event wasn't! I've heard his Grump name mentioned several time from Pale. He'll be watching over us in the near future. God Bless patriot Grump. Rest in peace! Bro

Ave atque vale
ReplyDeleteThrough many countries and over many seas
I have come, Brother, to these melancholy rites,
to show this final honour to the dead,
and speak (to what purpose?) to your silent ashes,
since now fate takes you, even you, from me.
Oh, Brother, ripped away from me so cruelly,
now at least take these last offerings, blessed
by the tradition of our parents, gifts to the dead.
Accept, by custom, what a brother’s tears drown,
and, for eternity, Brother, ‘Hail and Farewell’.
Gaius Valerius Catullus
Amen,Knine!
