my favorite is an AMD. folded with a teaser mag, it makes an excellent ranch gun. handles any AK mag well.
ReplyDeleteOf all the Kalishnikov variants this one is above the rest. I shot one on an M-16 range once and qualified with it 40-40. i would carry one in harms way with no reservations.
Thank you sir, duly noted.Their was a time time I would not have taken ak if it was gave to me.I think it mostly came from bullshit opinons of armchair experts, and a few bad experiences with some of poorer made versions.A good one ,reliabilty cant be questioned.

ReplyDeleteMy very favorite TSHTF rifle is my EWBANK POLISH UNDERFOLDER AK-47 . Made in the U.S.A. (Arizona) by EWBANK arms, this weapon is a beautiful example of why almost every country uses these as their military assault rifle. All new , matching parts , assembled here in the U.S.A..
ReplyDeleteI know, a Jarhead who prefers an AK , wtf right ? Shoot this thing , throw it in the mud, water , dirt, sand, smack it on a tree and then fire all 30 rounds without fail. Then you'll understand why I love it so much . The AK-47 fires 7.62x39 which has ballistics very similar to a 30-30 cartridge except a compact powder charge which rips this round out there and it is semi-auto.
Accuracy is never an issue so, this sucker is one reliable, comfortable , durable , never let ya down fkn animal made for combat . I'd take it over damn near any other assault rifle (almost). Drawbacks are RANGE. I prefer to be as far from my enemy as possible , the AK does not allow that but, if I need up close and personal (within 400 meters), this is the rifle . Ammo will be plentiful once things get started so score that as another plus ;-).
Another great thread China !

Damn I thought for Sure you was gonna say M1A1 or garand.Im with you on close to med,ak -sks both.Sks gets bad rap keep firing pin clean an lubed, its ok.
ReplyDeleteWTF,my own poll wont let me vote I'm going with mini -14 cause I own one have a lot of mags, green tips for it its very accurate, regardless of what all the exprerts say.It is ss ranch version. So far totally reliable.I've shot wolf, brown, silver, golden bear ammo, federal, lake city, israeli, winchester. ranging from 55 to 62 grain not a single malfunction.
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong bro, M1-A .308 is a beautiful weapon as is the M1 Garand 30.06 (my preferred sniping cartridge). Both of these are heavy as hell and in my late 40's I take that into consideration now HAHA . I aint 22 yrs old nor do I run 5-7 miles a day anymore, weapon weight is an issue.
ReplyDeleteAK is half the weight with a helluva punch , proven in combat the world over. If I had to fall back on any assault rifle I'd take the RUGER Mini-14 . For longer range I choose a Remington model 700 in 30.06 with a Leupold 3.5x10 power tactical scope (mildot reticle). That is close to what I am used to from my days in "THE SUCK" .

CS I am a helpless gun fanatic...
ReplyDeleteIf it shoots I like it...
Now is the time to get a rifle and ammo - now now later, the panic has subsided some (most likely because we all ran out of money) but now is the time.
If you are waiting, stop find an internet seller, find a local shop and get SOMETHING, if all you can afford is a .22 get one, if you can afford a Mosin Nagant - get one with some ammo.
Yeah with ya both. Here in my neck of the woods, decent nagant run around $120 ctd sells 7.62 by 54r for under $100 for 440 rounds.
ReplyDeleteAgain, I would take the Ruger MINI-14 as I am very familiar with it and it is, in my opinion, the perfect weapon for most any occasion.
